BRYAN KOWALSKI - Bass Guitar

HISTORY:

Often referred to as "the old guy", Bryan is one the second eldest members of Aztec Jade at 35. He is self taught for the most part, only taking bass lessons early on in his career to improve his talents. Bryan originally started playing in local bands shortly after college, building on his musical experience from high school, but it wasn't untill he hooked up with Rick and Matt that things started to come together. He is one of the founding three members of the band that became Aztec Jade.

Bryan's playing style has evolved from his early influences into his own unique brand of aggressive, percussive, as well as melodic bass playing.

INFLUENCES:

Stuart Hamm, Michael Manring, Chris Wyse, and John Myung, to name a few.

INTERESTS:

When he's not snapping and a plucking', Bryan can be found surfing the internet, spending all his money on sushi or hanging out with Rick / Matt. Other time he spends listening to traditional Japanese koto music and speaking Japanese. Rumored Shakuhachi enthusiast. Bryan is also the webmaster for AZTEC JADE.

Bryan uses Kubicki Factor & Steinberger basses with Blue Steel strings exclusively, MESA amplification & cabinets.
